How do you know it's time to let go?

Ask yourself. How DO YOU know? Strange enough, I didn't have an answer to this question after a friend asked me about this earlier. It seems kinda hard to actually tell when it's time to let go or still put up with the fight but let me just summarise 5 things that "I think" are the most common indications that it's about time to let go and let fate happen.

It's time to let go when.. You're starting to keep secrets from each other.

TRUST dude. If you can't be all out and honest to your partner, you might as well end it. How can you be in a relationship when your partner doesn't even trust you around your friend of the opposite sex? As I grew older, I realised that being open to ideas of your partner having real friends outside the both of you is important for them not to lose themselves. Being close-minded will only give rise to more and more secrets and scary enough, it might turn to lies. (Wow, so deep. Haha! Cheka.)

It's time to let go when.. You can go a day without having to communicate.

Communication is very important.. to girls at least. Last night my friend and I were watching a movie and we were laughing about having to miss that kilig feeling when someone you love sends you a message. Haha! Isn't it amazing how one simple act of reaching out to the person you love makes them feel loved? I don't know about you but not communicating is like telling the other person (cue Edward Cullen. Haha!), "It's as if you never existed."

It's time to let go when.. You've cried enough.

Teardrops are falling in my.. eye? Haha! Crying is normal, constant crying seems kinda abnormal. Haha! Not only will you look haggard, you'll also feel less about yourself and your wound is cutting deeper inside. (Knife, cuts like a knife. Haha! :P )

It's time to let go when.. You're tempted to find what your partner lacks in another person. or actually do it.

Self explanatory. One word, cheating. Next!
Finally, It's time to let go when.. you've lost YOU.

I'm sleepy. Haha! Bye loves!! :) Comments?

Me before You

I think I should stop watching movies from now on. My bank account is not liking it anymore. Haha! A few days ago, when Me before you was released in NZ, my housemate and I were talking about watching it. Sylvia Park's only 10 minutes away thus without hesitation, we got her laptop and booked our tickets online! (So much for "spur of the moment decisions". Haha!)

I got the book and it has been lounging around my room for the past few weeks now (Since I have this habit of comparing books and movies) and a much as I wanted to flick to the next few pages that I've read, I just didn't have the time. (Reasons reasons. Haha!) Okay so, when we got to the cinema (It was my first time to be at Hyots so don't judge. Haha!), I was amazed on how roomy the seat was. If you're ever planning on asking your girl out on a date, then this place is a winner. Haha. :P

Back to the movie. (I get sidetracked so easily. Jeez.) When the people were coming in, here I am sitting there smiling to myself thinking, this is the type of movie wherein guys would be forced to watch it just to avoid further arguments with ze girlfriend. Haha! As the movie was starting, I braced myself for what is about to happen. Tears and more tears and plus a little bit more. Haha!

The movie got me hooked and surprisingly it didn't make me feel sleepy especially in the beginning. Hihi. I commend the writer for writing such brilliant set of lines which enabled most of the audience to laugh. Weird enough, I loved Louisa Clark's fashion sense in this movie. Fashion does depend on who and how that person wears such clothes. I'm going to go deeper about the movie so if you don't want any spoilers, stop reading from this point on. Haha!

The story for me was Nicholas Sparks-ish since it involves one person being tragically paralysed for some reason and then fate brings the leading lady closer to the leading man, and the rest is history.  And by history I meant someone has to die and someone has to move on. This movie taught me something about selfish and selfless kind of love. Isn't it bizarre (I learned to use this word in a sentence and not just in a title of a song due to my Kiwi workmates. Haha!) how one can actually be selfish and self-lessssss at the same time?

Will, as arrogant as he got after what has happened to him and after his girlfriend married his best friend (AWWWW), is the type of guy that you would actually be annoyed with at first and then your heart will begin to soften up as you get to know him and your heart softens up a little bit more as he shares to no one else but you and then days later you'd realise that... that you're starting to want to make him smile. That he's the only person in your life at that time who actually believed in your capacity to do something more out of your life that just live it. This is what happened to Louisa Clark, which was at that time, in a relationship with someone that was just too entered on himself and his wants that he forgets the importance of making Lou one of his top priorities.

Do you actually believe that some people are actually meant to be a part of your lives even for a split second? That every encounter you have and no matter how fast that encounter may be, you can see fate unfolding? (ANO DAAAAW? Hahaha)

It wasn't a coincidence when the cafe closed and Louisa had to look for a job to support her family and that she eventually ended sitting in front of Will's mom thinking it was Will's father that she was going to look after. You know how life goes. As the movie was progressing (Char), I've caught a few lines (#whatswithmeandmovielines) that kindaaaa made me feel kilig (Dear auto correct, FYI, kilig is now part of the English dictionary. Haha!). Here are a few:

1. When Will/Louisa (not sure. haha) said, " Can I take you somewhere?"

2. When (this I'm sure) Will said, "You are pretty much everything that makes me want to get up in the morning." ----Awww moment. 'Kay fine. Haha.

3. When Will said, "You are something else." ----I hope he meant it in a good way! Haha.

4. "You can't change when the people can't. What do you do? You love them anyway."---SOOO hard to do this one.

5. Will: "Will you stay?" ----As if he was asking himself to stay by starting of with "Will". Haha. :P Waley!

Louise: "For as long as you want me to."

Favourite: When you feel sad, just live.

Overall, this movie seemed a bit cliche but the type of cliche that makes you want to believe that  by being selfish and by leaving the person you love behind is not all the time a bad thing. Most of the time when you're the person leaving you'd feel like it's just the right thing to do at that time. And as for the person being left behind, you may not understand how such a selfish decision can be so unselfish, but you just have to accept it.

After watching Me before You what stuck to me was each of us has to find that need to become our own selves before being with someone for "the rest of our lives". In some cases, finding "you" enables you to find that "you" that you're looking for. Buuttt always remember, "Walang forever". Hahaha! Jokkeeeeee. Bye loves!

Oh, P.S. Their first date with Louisa wearing that red dress and the look on Will's face when he saw her was one for the books! :) and P.S.S.S.S.sss. Believe in serendipity. In finding things that are not looked for. :)

Shamless blog post for a God who was NEVER ashamed of me

After crying my heart out last Sunday at church (Trust me when God speaks to you through the Holy Spirit you'll know what I mean. Haha!), mind you it's so hard when nobody's there to make you feel better thus I miss Rosca. Haha!, I felt this need to blog about the only "person" who stood by me when everyone else's presence is not there.

I've always been a mama's girl and I'm proud to say that. I've kinda gotten used to having my mom around me and moving out of the country last year was hard because of the bond that I have with my mom. I feel homesick from time to time but when I realised that I have a God who never leaves my side, I begin to feel at peace with where I'm at right now. God gives me the feeling of comfort more than the feeling that my mom gives me whenever she's around or nearby. God makes me feel this unexplainable peace in my heart that surprisingly is nothing compared to any feeling that I get from anyone around me.

The theme at church this week or month is all about knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Lately, I don't know how to explain this but even if I'm happy, I'm sort of not deep inside? Sometimes I'd call it hormones but when it lasts for more that a week I'd call it emptiness of the heart. I'm not quite sure about what I'm talking about here actually. Haha! I'm still trying to figure it out myself. Anyway, I believe that what I'm feeling now is because of that lack of connection with God lately. Do you know how I pray every morning, every night or wherever I am I talk to God but I kind of feel like I'm not 100% into Him?

Last Sunday, I was talking to God about everything that I was feeling within that week and that I feel dumb at work since some people would make you feel that way and then the pastor goes and says all the right things which makes me believe that God is telling me something through other people. One recent testimony I have is that earlier that Sunday I was searching for my bus timetable since I don't know how to get home after the 6:30pm service, haha, at that moment when the timetable showed up on my phone's screen, I received a text message from my housemate asking me if I wanted to go home with her that night. See how God works? I don't believe that it's a coincidence because the timing was so perfect that no coincidence could ever top that. :)

I also learned that talking about your blessings is not boasting about it because everything that you've received was not done but given to you by God and that you may use those experiences to inspire and lead people towards God and not make yourself any different from them. As a christian (Well, can't wait to be baptised soon! Hihi), I'm not perfect. I make mistakes in a day to day basis. I get angry. I curse at times (Sorry Lord). I do stuff that seems more "worldly" instead of "Godly". It's not easy to admit that but you know what, those bad things that you've done in the past and has done yesterday, two days ago, a week ago... They can become an inspiration for you to use in the future to lead people to God.

I used to wonder why those who are sexually abused, battered, those who did drugs, those who cheated on their husbands and wives, those who had the worst experience that you can think of, are the ones giving the best talk about Jesus and what He can do. The answer is, that's our God. He calls us and when we respond to Him, He restores us from our brokenness and makes us feel like a whole new person. Of course, the world around us wouldn't believe that and would judge us immediately but through all that, when we cling to God, things that people say around us just doesn't matter anymore. God's words become our anchor and His words shields us from all the judgements of the world.

So when people don't like you, refuse to be with you and isolates you because you love God, then you're not with the right people and you're better of without them. If people makes you feel less worthy to be with them just because you refuse to dwell on what is earthly and decide to focus on what you can do for God, then God is removing them from your life for a reason. I'm not the type of person who easily gives up on people. I'd usually stand by even if I get hurt because I want to prove to them that there is goodness in each of their hearts. Sometimes I do get tired and sometimes I'd get told off. Haha! But oh well, I'll just continue to be that way and who knows, one day, a miracle might happen and they'd actually ask about God and come to church. :)

My top 5 LSS songs for Winter 2016

I've always loved music. When I was a kid I used to sing and one time I even forced mom to buy me a radio just so I could record the music that are being played. Haha! Years later when apple introduced iPods, I'd spend most of my time figuring out how to download music and transfer it into the iPod that was given to me by my Tito (That I forgot the name! Sorry. Haha!) When I finally did, I'd constantly update my iPod with what's new on the radio.

Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep.. No, not that. Haha! Lately, I've had quite a few favourites from what is being played on the radio and I'd like to share 5 of them with you. I know most of you guys would know these songs since they're being played like twice in a day on the radio and you might have heard most of these being hummed, sang and played in the supermarket, bus stop or wherever. So here goes my top 5 LSS songs!!

Don't Let me Down by Chainsmokers

I find the chorus of this song really catchy. Did you realise how much they repeated "I need you" and "Don't let me down" in this song? Who wouldn't get LSS to that? Haha! I bet that those two phrases occupy most of the lyrics which is not too baaaad though cuz the beat matches the lyrics and don't you just wanna turn up the volume and dance to this song? I mean common. Kidding! Haha! :P

This is what you came for by Calvin Harris
Yoooouuu-oh Yooou-ooh oooh. Haha! Lyrics wise, pure nonsense. The beat on the other hand makes you wanna jump on your toes and point to somebody you know and belt out "Youuuuuu-oh youuuuu-oh oh" Haha!

Ghost by Ella Henderson

I wish I can sort of rap like Ella (First name basis! Haha! Close? Haha!). It fascinates me to hear a lady rap and sing the lyrics really quick. The only rap I learned was from a song called 'Stupid Love' from the Philippines. Haha! :P I like how she was able to incorporate the word 'prayer' to the lyrics of the song but the "devil" part is kinda creepy. Makes me think twice about listening to this song. Haha! Oh and one more thing! Don't you just love the title? So unique. Haha! :P

Wild things by Alessia Cara

Find me where the wild things are? Haha! I'm not really into wild things. I'm more on the average to moderate level only. Haha! This song just shows how rebellious one can be. Some would call it rebellious others would call it having fun but I'd call it living Life. But of course with a few limits that you'd impose on yourself and actually follow :)

Time of our lives-Pitbull and Ne-yo

It's Ne-yo. Enough said. Haha! and Pitbull sure can rap! (Jealous :( ) I've been staying for a few nights in the city these past 2 weekends and I reckon (Words that you learn from Kiwi co-workers. Haha!) that this song best describes my past two weekends with my friends! Staying in the suburbs has its downside though. Makes you feel "EMO" at times. Haha!

Unfailing by Life Worship

After all the upbeat music, sometimes it's just nice to play something calm and comforting. I downloaded some of Life worship's song on iTunes and this is by far my favourite. I love how it reminds me of God's goodness and unfailing love before I go to bed at night. Without the inventor, no one could've invented music right? One pastor once said, every music that's created is beautiful. Sometimes the "devil" just comes in the picture and turns it into something that's not pleasing to God. So let's just be careful on what we listen to because most of the time what we see and hear determines what's in our hearts. :)

So there you go. My top 5 playlist for that's getting me through the first part of winter! Any suggestions as to what song I should add to my playlist? :) Feel free to comment below!

Bye loves!

3 Things I learned about Relationships after a year away from home

It feels like ages since I last posted a blog entry. School has ended and I now got heaps of time to do other stuff thus the blog post. Haha! I was thinking of what to write for my comeback (haha, joke) and while I was scrolling and scrolling and scrolling... you get the point. Scrolling through my Facebook page, it seems like everyone that I know has struggled with relationships and love in particular when they left home. I'm no love expert so before you continue on reading this, promise yourself that you won't judge me for what I am about to write. Haha!

The truth is, this is still my blog and you can't do anything about it but read. Hihi. Okay, so where were we? Right. Relationships. I'm going to sum up 3 of things that I learned from my own experience and from other people's experience in the past year that I've lived outside the comfort of home.

First thing's first. Long distance relationship, just DOESN'T work. Dun dun dun.
(I know, I know, you disagree with me on this but trust me I used to be on your side too.)
It's surprising how this line just came out from me. I used to, I hoped, I believed and I even "campaigned" on the ability of such relationship to work but after a year, I just realised that it just doesn't work. But here's the thing. It doesn't work because as human as we are we begin to doubt our partner, we lose our trust, we bring up some things in the past and we miss to communicate. We begin to get tired, we begin to get weary, we begin to seek attention from others and we begin to give each other too much time for our own wants when aside from just you, a thing called "us" exists. Just a piece of unsolicited advice, if you can't stay faithful and if you can't learn to trust each other between the roads, the bridges, and the airports that's in the middle of the both of you, then please do yourself a favour and leave?

There is such thing as "Friendly Date". Haha!
If my flatmates were to read this, they'd definitely disagree with me on this one. Do you believe in such thing though? I do. Haha! People, yes I mean you and me, easily judge others whenever they see a guy and a girl walk down the streets together. It's not like they're already dating or anythiiiing.(Defensive? Haha!) No friendly date is bad bad unless it's bad. Wait. Say what? All friendly dates are not bad but it becomes bad when one or both parties get to hurt another party. What I'm trying to say is, when you're committed, stop. The more frequent you spend time with that person, the more chances of winning! Joke. Haha! The more chances of you guys falling for each other without you even knowing it. If you're a girl and you're reading this and this guy asks you out to spend time with him and do stuffs together, go but NEVER assume that he already likes you unless he openly says something about it cuz when you're abroad, some people are just bored and you might be too. Oh and one more thing, (cue Jose Marie Chan) Please be careful withhhhhhh... Your heart. Haha!

Tinder is a Yes-No kinda thing.
I say 100% NO to Tinder but it worked for some! I've had friends who tried their luck and somewhere somehow it kinda worked for them. So good on ya mate! Haha! Well, being abroad has opened my eyes on a lot of things and even if I still disagree and I still don't believe in online romances, (I just think it's so boring to try to make a conversation with someone you just virtually met), some people find their destiny there. Most people are in it for the other stuff but for some, it will mean their forever. (If such forever exists. Haha!) So before you click on that download button, think twice or maybe 77x7. Haha!

*****Open your heart to love.*****
This last one, which is not part of the three anymore, is basically just for singles only. You might have had a rough experience or you might not have any experience at all but maybe it's time. Time to just let people into your life and actually live. You can get used to being alone but it doesn't mean that you try to shut people down. Take it from me. I do it all the time. Haha! It's just hard to trust again you know. But come to think of it, why do you limit yourself to something that may be greater and all you have to do is to trust again. A friend recently told me that I detach myself so easily from others. That kinda woke me up a bit but it's a process for me but to you who's reading this and you're just as scared as I am, remind yourself to be strong enough to love again or to just begin to love.

Always remember, We love because HE first loved us. Right Lord? :)

Enough of being sentimental. Whew! That last one was a bit heartfelt ey? Haha! Anyways, if you have comments and violent reactions please feel free to write it down below. :)

Crossroads

"See you at the crossroads, crossroads.."

It's been years since this song became popular and was played all over the radio. Funny how it seems to make a come back.. Well, not in the music scene but in my life.

Have you ever wondered why some good memories just sometimes last as memories? Do you get me? Haha! I just feel like there are certain instances in our lives where we experience happiness and then all of a sudden fate comes to place and it all ends on how it's supposed to be. I don't really know if I'm trying to make sense right now but please bear with me. Haha!

Some unanswered questions, unexplained feelings and unuttered thoughts constitute what life call as complicated. But you know what? There are questions that should be left unanswered, feelings that should be left unexpressed and thoughts that will forever wander.

I don't know why we have to go through this cycle in life but maybe it will teach us something. How do you solve an unanswered question? Ask. How do you explain that feeling? Express. What are you thinking? Say it. If only I could do all that though.

In the end, we just have to deal with it and get it over with. Memories, events, laughters, smiles, and time. It'll all come to pass. Besides, our brain doesn't have the capacity to store everything.. that's just if you're trying to forget something. Haha

This blog post doesn't seem to make sense. Haha! What I'm trying to say is...

Happiness.. it's temporary but you can always reminisce.
Smiles.. it lasts for a minute or two but you can always bring it back again.
Hugs.. one can always let go but at least you felt the warmth.
Memories..

             be thankful for it.
             be glad that it happened.
smile when it crosses your mind.
write it down so that when your heart and brain forgets,
you can always go back to it.

I couldn't be more thankful. :)

PIHA BEACH, New Zealand

Two weeks ago, my friend's friend invited us to go on a road trip to one of the popular beaches in town. We were all giddy and excited since this will be our first road trip together! The whole flat is finally going somewhere aside from Queen Street! Haha!

One quick trivia before I get into the details of our trip. Piha beach, based on their website, is New Zealand's famous Surf beach. It is situated on the west coast of the North Island which is 40kms away from the city of Auckland. We travelled using our friend's private car and it took us about 45 minutes (minus the stopover) to get to the actual place.

When we got there, I was in awe of how beautiful the place was. Thanks to the nice weather that day, we got to walk around the beach while wearing dresses! :)

Campervans :) I want to try living here for once in my life.

My little brother told me that I look like a ghost since I'm so pale, and I was so happy that Mr. Sun was out when we got to Piha because I got to take in some Vitamin D. Haha :)

Since the beach was too dangerous to swim in due to the moody, misty and mysterious current, we just decided to walk barefoot and enjoy the view. :)

Hey there roomie!

Children's playground. Brings out the kid in me... always. Haha! :)
If you're planning on taking a trip to Piha and didn't have much preparations like we do, don't you worry. There's a nearby cafe (Which I think is the only cafe there) that serves coffee, smoothies, and a lot of other healthy dishes. Their desserts and pastries are yummy too but the thing is they ran out so fast and they do not make much so if you want it, buy it straight away! :)

We got tired from walking so took our time and sat on the not so white sand of Piha. There were families and lovers sitting by the beach and just enjoying the nice view and the heat of the sun. Some families even brought their dogs there and they played with them and walked them around. :)

SPELL HAPPINESS.

This is probably my most favourite photo during our trip. One classmate said that it resembles the "Sisterhood of travelling pants" movie. Haha! The trip itself was one for the books. It got even better with the right company. I hope we'll get to do more of these spontaneous trips in the next couple of months! Flat 1212 :)

Thank you Jesus for blessing us and for giving us a safe journey during this trip. You made us so happy. All glory and honour to YOU! :)
